Kettler Rowing Machines

Kettler rowing machines are manufactured by a German company known as the Heinz Kettler group, which has been in the business for over 50 years. Kettler rowing machines are known to be great models for those who are interested in getting started with rowing for the first time, or those that want some upper-tier features and specs without the upper-tier prices. Most people will find Kettler rowing machines to be reasonably priced and affordable. There are three different models amongst the Kettler rowing machines on the market today.

Kettler Favorit Rowing Machine:

The “Favorit” model of Kettler rowing machines is a great option for beginners. It features hydraulic/piston resistance with two separately controlled arms or levers. This is a great way to get into indoor rowing exercise, however will not provide the most realistic rowing experience.

Kettler Kadett Rowing Machine:

The Kettler Kadett Rowing Machine is another hydraulic/piston resistance model. It has several upgrades over the Favorit model. To begin with it features a design that allows for a circular motion, offering a more realistic rowing motion than does the Favorit. It is also easily adjustable to account for different leg lengths and body sizes. Additionally, the Kadett folds up for easy storage, making it a great model for those that are short on space.

Kettler Coach Rowing Machine:

The Kettler Coach is their top of the line model. The Coach model has the most advanced electronics system offering up a wide range of useful data about your workout and condition. Whereas the other two Kettler rowing machines offer optional heart rate monitors, that is included with the Coach model. The Coach is a magnetic rowing machine that is operated by a rope-pulley. The electromagnetic resistance offers a realistic rowing experience and is great for specific, timed, distance or intensity workouts. Additionally, a variety of other exercises can be performed using the Coach Rowing Machine equipment; providing a fuller range of fitness and strength opportunities.

Some similarities amongst all of the Kettler rowing machines include:

  • All the Kettler rowing machines (being either hydraulic/piston or magnetic) are quiet. This is a great feature for many people as air rowing machines can get extremely noisy.
  • Additionally, all Kettler rowing machines come with easy to read electronic displays that give you workout information such as distances, times and other specifics. An interesting and informative readout is the “fitness rating” which uses pulse recovery measurements to gauge your progress and fitness level.
